Update, Up Late

The midnight breeze accompanies me on my nocturnal journey as i traverse along the plains of once-trees stained in blots.. Oh, how I wish time were on my side!

Rewatching Idol finale - it amazes me how I keep on going back and forth on who I believe really should win the title. Adam or Kris? Both are good.

And yes, I want to kiss a girl.

And when we're together, I will remember you.

5 Current Pictures

Exams are... less than a month away. 38 chapters to reread, remember and revise. And here I am blogging?!

The things I do out of stress! :p

Have a habit of laying out my highlighters and pens in order before I study.. if not Surely will not study properly. Bad or good?

But they harmonise so well!

Had 2 near-contact incidents with H1N1.. Dun play play! Upped my vitamin C doses to improve the immune system..

Helped with organising the CPA Networking Night/ Installation Dinner last Friday. It was a blast! I felt like David Tutera for like, twelve hours (that was how long I went without food/water lol) running around arranginf stuff asking for help coordinating slides etc.

As a result, phone battery is dying. Mostly, the phoen is almost half-dead anyway what with me consistently dropping it with my butterfingers and been using it for more than 2 years now on 2 batteries.. Thsi emergency battery charger is a real life saver! Bought if on eBay and have been using it with Sony's rechargeable batteries.

Found the link to the product here. Go check it out! The seller's from Singapore and I bought quite a few items from him/her over a period of 12 months. So far, no complains!

Think the only thign you can print in your office now are documents?

Think again!

Introducing, 3D printers! Now perfected and commercialized to every company available. I personally think architects, labs and arts departments will find this particularly useful.

Here I Am :)

Seconds, hours, so many days
You know what you want, but how long can you wait?
Every moment last forever.
When you feel you've lost your way.

What if my chances were already gone?
I started believing that I could be wrong.
But you give me one good reason.
To fight and never walk away.

So here I am, still holding on

With every step, you climb another mountain
Every breath, it's harder to believe
You'll make it through the pain, weather the hurricanes
To get to that one thing.

Just when you think the road is going nowhere
Just when you almost gave up on your dreams
They take you by the hand and show you that you can
There are no boundaries.
There are no boundaries.

I fought to the limit, to stand on the edge
What if today is as good as it gets?
Don't know where the future's heading
But nothing's gonna bring me down
I've jumped every bridge and I've run every line
I risked being safe but I always knew why
I always knew why

So here I am, still holding on

With every step, you climb another mountain
Every breath, it's harder to believe
You'll make it through the pain, weather the hurricanes
To get to that one thing

Just when you think the road is going nowhere
Just when you almost gave up on your dreams
They take you by the hand and show you that you can

You can go higher, you can go deeper
There are no boundaries above and beneath you
Break every rule 'cause there's nothing between you
And your dreams

With every step, you climb another mountain
Every breath, it's harder to believe

Yeah, there are no boundaries
There are no boundaries

With every step, you climb another mountain
Every breath, it's harder to believe
You'll make it through the pain, weather the hurricanes

There are no boundaries.
There are no boundaries.
There are no boundaries.

Ranters

Yesterday I’ve decided to cut off that limb of my life that I feel has been dragging me down.

You know those type of feelign when U see that someone - the feeling like you're beign sucked dry of emotion, or energy, or anything for that matter? Well, i got rid of it together with that part of my life. (Or so i should call it. the part-formerly.)

Feels very much free to have your heart with more space! - to love, instead, those people who truly appreciate you for who you are and not what you have to offer.

Sure, everybody needs help. But does that mean I have to give it? Aren’t there lecturers getting paid to help these poor students? Or other people in the course who probably knows better about the current subject that I would (seeing as how I have not touched that subject for, oh 2 semesters?) Why bother me at all?

What I truly feel is that right now, its time for me to focus on my self. Why give a damn to those who aren’t worth your time anymore right?

Besides, I was never treated as a friend by him. Never had a “hey how r u doing” or “whats up” in ages. So when the first msg from him that I saw was “I need some tutoring” my first thought was “F**k off.”

So, sorry if I sounded mean or rude but this decision was mine to make for my own good.  I CANNOT MAKE EVERYBODY HAPPY WITH MY DECISION. And I won’t change my mind.

Top 5 Thoughts of the Day & HAPPY BDAY LIL!

Just takign a quick snippet to blog:

1. Why is it that when you are so free, time goes by so slowly but when you are so busy and need more time, it goes by so quickly??

2. Adam vs Kris: Not quite what I'd hoped for. Will miss Mr Gokey for entirely personal reasons lol.

3. Presentations are soo not my thing anymore! Rusty as as wet tin nail in a test tube with plain water. Will need to practice and dig out them ol' blazers for some show-off time i suppose.

4. Hamsters are so lovable. I look forward to going home and staying in every night just to play with them!

5. I love making cards and designing crafts. Why do I not have a degree in that?? incidentally, HAPPY BIRTHDAY LILIAN!!! :D

Week 9 and counting

Nearly half k, am getting there.

Was listening to Kelly Sweet's album again; brought me back to the past when I was playing this cd and have other memories attached to it. Sweet ones, bad ones. I try to remember all I've learnt and yet it seems that we can never stop learning can we?

AI TOP 4 NEWS

"If, twenty years ago, you had told Slash that one day he would act as mentor for aspiring pop stars on a semi-cheesy televised talent show, he would have purposely OD'd right then and there.  However, that is exactly what's about to go down this week on American Idol.  Slash, the famed guitarist for Guns n' Roses and Velvet Revolver, is American Idol's mentor for Rock Week.  It's hard to imagine that the Top 4 will be helped that much from Slash's mentoring (it's not like Slash is known for his singing chops), but it should be interesting nonetheless.  Is there any way that, during the taped mentoring sessions, Slash wears his top hat and sunglasses with a lit cigarette hanging out of his mouth?  Please?  It would make my year.

The other big news heading into this antepenultimate week of American Idol is that, for the first time ever, the contestants will each sing a duet.  Forgiving the inherent unfairness of whatever the match-ups end up being, the duets have me excited.  If American Idol wanted to give us the best possible combos, the answer is easy - Allison sings with Adam, Kris sings with Danny.  There really isn't much else that makes sense.  Allison could probably sing with anyone, though she'd probably over-power Kris and she doesn't mesh with Danny stylistically.  Adam and Allison are perfect, and I can't wait to see them sing together, if that ends up happening.  Danny and Kris, well, I can't say I've been waiting with bated breath to see them perform a a duet, but it could be cool.  I guess.

For Wednesday's results show, there are two big-time acts set to hit the Idol stage.  First is
Chris Daughtry, one of the most successful non-winners in American Idol history.  Joining him Wednesday will be No Doubt, who have rejoined and are prepping for a summer tour in preparation for their new album.

There's a rumor going around that a third performance will be added to Wednesday's results show.  It's possible that
Paula Abdul will take the stage to unveil her brand new single "I'm Just Here for the Music."  Everyone keep their fingers crossed!"

YAARGH CURRENT ISSUES I HATE YOU!! ASSIGNMENTS ARE SUCH A B*TCH!

Maybe accounting ain't my forte.

how to Save Money: Printers

So I think I should be more money savvy and try to cut back on the ka-ching outflow.. It's the recession, everybody's got low cash and inflation is pretty much killing ur wallets. So how can we save on $$$ on printers?

Personally I use Canon iP Pixma 1600, I know its a DINOSAUR! My current use for it is mainly just for printing out notes (in black and white) and the occasional fliers for CPAASC with colour ink.  Below are a few suggestions to minimise expenditure printer-wise:

1. Print at your dad/mom's office. I'm sure they won't mind!

2. Refill your own ink cartridge. Buy a refill kit instead of a new inkl. My ink are PG 40 (black ) and PG41 (colour) They respectively cost RM70+ and RM80 ++ each. But a black ink refill set costs only RM15 for two full black catridges!

Of course, you'll have to be careful and follow the instructions properly to drill the hole, make sure its the right spot, inject properly and seal up with maskin tape amd test the printer buy hey! You save a LOT.

If you're somewhat unsure about how to inject or where to drill them holes (especially for colour cartridges.. Yes, cartridges! I was searching for that word la XD) don't fret - just google em up with the keywords such as your cartridge number, how to, refill colour ink etc. It works for me so it hsould be fine whatever type you have.

3. Change your printer setting to low quality. This saves up alot in the long run.

4. Sometimes some documents can be edited - delete those unnecessary slides or pictures from your lecturer's powerpoints before printing. Some word documents can br printed 2 on one page instead of going for the normal single page. Adjust the fonts to a smaller one. Save wherever you can!

5. When printing websites, don't print screen. Copy and paste the required text into Word and THEN print.

6. This might sound rather leecherous, but you can ask your friends to print for you (lol!) if they don't mind.. I take that back its not such a good idea.

UPDATE

7. When PC Fair comes (like Pikom's, you can check when they're coming at http://pikom.org.my/) go and stock up on printer inks and so on! It's a really good idea - you can buy a whole lot in bundles and bargain for discounts and unlike other items, printer ink will not spoil if you keep it properly. Thanks to Kyra for the heads-up!

8. Also forgot about the A4 papers needed for printing on~! Well, this would fall under Stationery (and I think a post on that will come up soon~) but in the meantime you should consider checking out warehouses selling satationery to get good quality A4 paper for printing.

I have a few choices: the normal, not-fantastic-quality-but-still-printable paper which I use for lecture slides and not-so-important documents, while the better types (the ones that have a bit of blue to them also abit thicker and therefore more expensive) I save for assignments and letters. So, all is good.

Sometimes I get blank papers from my dad's office as well and some lucky find in the library.

Hoep these tips help!!
